Special Orders Don’t Upset Us!

Amramp’s modular, design flexibility provides wheelchair ramp solution for a law office in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada

A law firm in Westaskiwin, Alberta, Canada needed to provide wheelchair access for its office. This commercial wheelchair ramp was tricky to design and to fit in the limited, difficult space allowed. It also required additional special order platforms to the fit on the porch for a compliant landing. The ramp then had to stay within inches of the property line.

Lorne Wensel, our Amramp Alberta franchise partner, worked with Mike Bucceri one of our corporate engineers to design the ramp and the special order platforms. Because Amramp manufactures all of our own ramp material, we were able to create the perfect ramp for this project and ship it to Alberta, Canada quickly. Mike also provided engineering drawings that were used for the permit.

The ramp was two inches from the A/C unit when done! The building inspector passed the ramp with flying colors. The Amramp steel ramp was the only ramp that could be built in a side yard so close to the building because it is non-combustible. Wood and aluminum are combustible materials.

Amramp installs accessibility ramps throughout the United States and parts of Canada at businesses, residences, schools and institutions. Amramp is North America’s leading ramp company specializing in sturdy, customizable ramps for disability access.

Ramps can be installed temporarily for short term or long term needs without damaging the housing structure as they are not a permanent modification to the home. Amramp products comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Alberta Barrier Free Design Guide and are available for sale or rental with no minimum time frame and no ramp size restrictions. The unique, perforated steel mesh ramp surface has an open pattern, allowing moisture to drain, reducing the possibility of a slippery ice surface or mold build-up.
