Amramp Can Help Bring Loved Ones Home During COVID19 Emergency

Elderly and at-risk patients are particularly vulnerable in a group environment such as nursing homes during this COVID19 pandemic. Health officials are now suggesting that if family members are able to provide care at home, they may want to consider bringing their loved ones home during this pandemic.

Dr. Barbara Ferrer, Los Angeles County’s public health director, said on April 7, if families are able, it would be “perfectly appropriate” for them to pull their elderly relatives out of such facilities.

Ferrer suggested that people who are now working from home might be able to care for their relatives.

Other health officials made the same recommendation for assisted living facilities, independent living and continuing care communities where older people who have fewer nursing needs live in close quarters.

Karl E. Steinberg, a nursing home and hospice care medical director near San Diego and vice president of the Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine said, “It’s got to be a case-by-case basis. But if people have the resources, I’d strongly consider bringing them home or, alternatively, considering a small group home setting,” Steinberg said.

Amramp is uniquely qualified to help get these people home safely and quickly. We have local inventory across the US and parts of Canada and our modular system let us install ramps quickly. Our rental options are great for temporary situations.

As an essential service Amramp is able to continue to provide first class service to people with limited mobility during stay-at-home advisories or mandatory lockdowns.

Our services enable patients to be discharged from medical facilities to their homes or a family member’s home to protect them from COVID19. We can install a ramp in a matter of days to provide temporary access to help families bring vulnerable loved ones home to stay with them through this health emergency. We have rental options available so the ramps can be rented and removed once the crisis is over.

Throughout the COVID19 pandemic, Amramp will remain committed to the wellbeing of our customers, Amramp Team Members, and our communities at large. To schedule an appointment call 888-715-7598 or fill out a form on our website at https://amramp.com/contact-us/.
