About the Amramp Team

The Amramp Team manufactures our modular wheelchair ramps in historic Boston, Massachusetts. Take a look at the behind-the-scenes action in our video above.

We started more than 40 years ago as a producer of architectural metal items used by contractors and architects. We produced stairs, rails, fire doors and security products for doors and windows.

In 1998 we patented a unique modular wheelchair ramp system that has become our signature product. We have expanded our product line to include other products that make life accessible, such as stairlifts, vertical platform lifts, grab bars and railings, overhead patient lifts and more.

Today, we have 45 locations and growing across the United States and Canada. Each of our locations has local inventory so we can accommodate your accessibility needs quickly.

Supporting Communities

Every wheelchair ramp, stairlift or other product we install changes someone's life.

Bill Freshwater of our Baton Rouge location challenged Amramp HQ and specifically Conor Sweeney, Patrick Arnold and Taly Andino to accept the Ice Bucket Challenge supporting ALS.

We accepted the challenge and Conor, Patrick, Taly and a bunch of our headquarters employees in South Boston participated in the ice bucket dunk.

Amramp President and Founder, Julian Gordon extended the challenge to our other franchise partners and their sales and installation teams as well.

Amramp has a long history of partnering with community members to help increase accessibility for the most vulnerable of our population.

We have worked with various ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and MDA (Muscular Dystrophy) Chapters across the country, as well as Area Agencies on Aging and PACE (Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly).

In August 2014, our South Boston employees participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge supporting ALS.

For many years we have worked with Ramp Access Made Possible by Students (RAMPS), an organization dedicated to installing ramps for mobility-impaired citizens in Richmond, Virginia, in yearly Ramp-a-Thons. Last year we worked with RAMPS to install 17 ramps in one weekend.

We also work with Rebuilding Together to build ramps all across the country.

We provided an estimated $100,000 worth of ramps to improve accessibility for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. We have also worked with FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) to provide emergency ramps for many disaster recovery efforts, including after Hurricane Isaac and Superstorm Sandy, as well as after the tornadoes in the mid-West.
